How long does it take to register a domain name?

In most cases domain name registrations are completed instantly; this relies on the supply of correct information at the time of registration and that your account be in a positive balance to cover the registration fees.

Domain registrations may be held up for the following reasons:

  • If the registration type is .id.au, .asn.au or .org.au they require manual review.
  • If an incorrect ABN/ACN is supplied for a .com.au or .net.au registration.

All other registrations are typically processed within minutes.
