A domain name has stopped working and it's status is clientHold, what does this mean?

When a domain slips into a clientHold status on the domain whois, this means it has expired and has been placed into a hold state. During this time, you have approximately 40 days from the domain names expiry date to renew the domain without paying an additional RGP fee:

Domain Name Life Cycle
